Also, during this period, he did about a gazillion television commercials and served as president of Merely Players, a playwriting group in NYC. Then, he went to Hollywood to write for television.
He and his former writing partner, Jack Kenny, have written for the TV shows “Dave’s World,” “Caroline in the City,” “Holding The Baby,” and “Maggie.” Along with Christopher Titus, they created the television show “Titus” on Fox. He executive produced “Wanda at Large” for FOX, starring Wanda Sykes, and created a half-hour comedy for TBS called “Nora.” Brian also wrote the book “My Life as a Dog” with Moose, the dog that played Eddie on the television show Frasier - which was sold to NBC as a television movie. Barbara Anselmi
Although Barbara is the new girl on the block as a composer, she worked for years as a music director/arranger/orchestrator. She became a composer/lyricist immediately after 9/11. Her song “All Join Together” served as the title song of a CD used to raise money for The New York Times 9/11 Fund. She was then commissioned to write the music for The Orphan Train, with book and lyrics by Susan and Sasha Nanus (published by Samuel French). She also wrote the music for an adaptation of A Christmas Carol for The Acting Company Salon Series, starring F. Murray Abraham as Scrooge and Lynn Redgrave as the narrator. Barbara’s work as orchestrator has been on television (“So You Think You Can Dance”) and her music has been featured in concerts across the country. Harriet Harris - Any successful wedding requires something old and something new. The prospect of walking down the aisle with old friends in an original Broadway musical is irresistible to me. Perhaps, the something borrowed and something blue had best be sorted out in rehearsal. I have appeared as other near perfect or deeply flawed women in, Present Laughter, Cry Baby: The Musical, Old Acquaintance, and The Man Who Came to Dinner. In 2002 I received the Tony and Drama Desk Awards for Featured Actress in a Musical as Mrs. Meers in Thoroughly Modern Millie. This past year, much to the surprise of my former glee club members, I made my debut at the San Francisco Opera in Show Boat. Off Broadway: Standing on Ceremony, Yeast Nation, Jeffrey (Drama Desk nomination), Bella, Belle of Byelorussia (Drama Desk nomination), Christmas on Mars, and Rude Entertainment. Regional appearances include, Guthrie Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, Kennedy Center. Film credits include: Love Is Strange, Memento, Nurse Betty, Addams Family Values.
